My new ward does this cool thing where they pass around a jar and if you feel like it, you can put a "nice note" in and people deliver them after church. This was our first Sunday doing it. And I was a lucky recipient of a nice note today and it was well, nice.
It didn't say much and it wasn't a proclamation of undying love (bummer). It was just a simple "Thanks for being so nice whenever you see me. It always brightens my day."
It doesn't hurt that they also said I'm "fashionable" but hey, that's beside the point.
That simple note totally made my day! I don't even know who it's from, but I love it! I hung it up on my wall to remind me of the goodness in this world.
This little note on a scrap of paper inspired me.
Did you know that October is national Bullying Prevention month? I have decided to make the goal of doing anonymous, random acts of kindness everyday for the month of October not just because it's a month to stop bullying but because service goes both ways.
You should join me.
They don't have to be big. They can be as simple as asking a stranger if they need help carrying something. Or offering kind words to a hurt soul. Or saying hi to a new friend on your way to class. Or even writing a little note.
It's the little things that make the biggest difference, so why not try to brighten others' days with little acts of kindness? I'll tell you how it goes. You should tell me how it goes for you, too.
I'd love to hear. I am oh so very excited!
Spread the love.
Xoxo
