Two Months!

Oí todo mundo!!!

FELIZ ANIVERSARIO to my awesome little brother, Brennen! Today he
turns 16 so watch out world! Stay off the roads. :)

Life is good here in very, very warm Brasil! We don't have much time
and I forgot to write down this week's highlights so today's email
will be short. We had an activity with our zone today so we missed the
computer lab where we normally write and the library closes soon, ahh!
Desculpa!

It is sufficient to say that every day something odd and very weird
happens - it is ALWAYS an adventure! From the people to the culture
and wild animals, I am always laughing at this weirdness of my life
now! But, I love it! I want to start carrying a journal to just
document the weird stuff. I will include more next week when I
remember.

Each day feels like ten years in one but each week feels so short!
Missão life is douda. We have some awesome people that we are teaching
now - they just have a hard time acting on their faith. We keep
working on!

Saturday someone thought I was Italian - so that is cool! Means my
accent is pretty chici (cool)! I am also going to start teaching an
English class soon so wish me luck! Everyone wants to speak English
with me and I can always tell because they just stand there waiting to
say something but are so hesitant.

The kids here especially love me and always ask to see American
dollars. Last week a boy gave me a bracelet - it was pretty precious,
haha.

I am starting to think in a mixture of Portuguese and English -
Portuglish. My companion laughs at me when I make up new words. :) I
laugh at her when she tries to sing English songs! I can only handle
"I AM SEE A!" (YMCA) for so long, haha! But, I love it! I love when
Brasilians try to speak English with me because it helps me see what I
probably sound like at times!

Last week a member told me that I am speaking at about an 8 month
level - that made me feel good! My companion pushes me hard and it is
difficult at times but it helps me grow a lot. I am already teaching
half of each lesson. Not sure if they are completely correct, but they
get the idea and the Spirit helps a lot. The Gift of Tongues is real!

My companion wants you all to know that last week a HUGE lizard ran
towards us and I screamed, "OH MY GOSH!" But she forgets to mention
that the next day we saw a catepillar and she jumped in fear behind me
screaming, "SISTER!" So...;)

A man with a dead chicken also talked to us last week, that was fun.
Everyday is crazy I am telling you! But I love it! I love this work, I
love this Gospel, I love my mission! I am so blessed to be here even
during the hot, hard times. Each day I grow so much and learn a lot
about myself, others, and our Savior. There is no work like this!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I promise next week's email
will ROCK! I will send more pictures when I have an actual functioning
computer. :)

Love you all!
Eu amo vocês!
Sister Serre
