Resolutions.

So, as many others do, I created a long list of New Year's Resolutions. One of which is to be healthier (meaning that I can no longer justify my long walks to class as exercise).
To begin my progress on this life long goal I decided to go to the gym yesterday between two of my classes. It was all going well until I walked into the actual gym - I was almost ran over by a track star. When I found my way to the treadmills, I couldn't get the cursed machine to work! I pushed every button and adjusted the incline thinking that it could get it started but to my sadness, nothing. Being the thinker that I am, I began to just push the treadmill mat thinking that that would get it to work - ya know, as a jumpstart? So here I am, surrounded by the BYU weightlifting team and other serious athletes, literally pushing myself on the treadmill. Eventually, I realized that it wasn't going to work so I moved to a new machine. Still no luck. At this point I felt like a complete idiot and considered adding "get smarter" to my list of resolutions. Fortunately, a nice girl next to me recognized my struggle and tried to help me out. Even her ideas weren't working! We pushed every button, turned every knob, and still could not get it to work. However, after about a minute of just staring at the chunk of metal, she discovered something - I had pulled the emergency stop tag off.

Go me.

I did my workout thing and left that gym feeling not only a little bit healthier but also a little bit dumber. It was a long day, okay?

May your resolutions begin better than mine.

Xoxo
