Daffodils.

Purple has always been my favorite color. My room is purple. The backpack I used for most of my life was purple. My nails right at this moment are even purple.

But, thanks to Daffodils and my mom, yellow comes in as a semi-close second (okay, it's a really close second).

I could never betray purple; it is the color of royalty after all. However, there is just something about yellow that makes me happy.

It might be because the sun is always portrayed as yellow. Or maybe because the first flowers that bloom in spring are often yellow. Or maybe it's because when I hear the word "yellow" I think of this song (which I love and could listen to all day). Either way, yellow makes me happy.

Today was a happy day. I got to spend time with my family and just take a break from the hectic school week. We played games, watched Power Rangers, wrote an award winning essay on cavities, and did each others' hair.

But the best part of the day was the trip through the adorable downtown Heber and my favorite, Park City. The destination for our trip was Salt Lake to spend some time with our grandparents - which is always a treat! But the real treat was in their backyard. The weather was glorious. The grass was green and soft. The Daffodils smelt like heaven. And I got to pick a bunch and take them home with me (score!).

Sadly, the camera on my phone doesn't do them justice.

In the last picture, you kind of get a glimpse of the yellow and lilac together - the perfect blend (in my opinion).

I never really had a "favorite flower" but now I am 100% sure it's the Daffodil.

Spring is here and I am loving it! I hope you get some sunshine and the chance to stop and smell the flowers this weekend! Happy St. Patrick's Day, by the way!

Xoxo

P.S. I can't get this song out of my head (check it out).
