Sassy.

Following the example of how any great Sacrament talk begins, I would like to give you the definition for sassy according to Webster; "Lively, bold, and full of spirit; cheeky." However, unlike Sacrament talks, I can also quote Urban Dictionary which states that someone who is sassy "possesses the attitude of someone endowed with an ungodly amount of cool."

Growing up, I got in trouble for being sassy. Being a sass got soap in my mouth; so, naturally, I cringe when someone calls me sassy. Soap isn't tasty, folks.

My dad used to just call me sassy when I would talk back or get an attitude; but now, it's not just my dad. And it's not (just) because I talk back.

I'm not really sure if I should take being called "sassy" as a compliment or still worry that a bar of soap might be stuck in my mouth. I mean, being told that I possess ungodly amounts of cool is pretty charming but then again...cheeky? Eh, I could go without that one.

I did some research on sass. Here is what I found. It's really informative.

NOT. How is this video not attacked as much as Friday?!

Okay, I get you might be asking, "Umm, hello? The name of your blog is 'The Sass of Cass.'" To be truthful, I didn't even make up the name! My dear friend, Cat, did! I just liked how it rhymed and sounded cool. Plus, who doesn't love those "Sassy Gay Friend" videos? Hi-lar-ious.

Basically, I just don't know how to react to this "sassy" thing going on.

People say stuff and I reply. Suddenly I am being nicknamed "The Sass." What the. If you say something that I can automatically come up with a witty/sarcastic reply to - not my fault. You set me up. My downfall is on your shoulders.

Should I be concerned? Do I need to get checked out by a neurosurgeon? Is there a pill I can take for this? What is going on with my life? Obviously, I am joking. But seriously, what do I do?

Maybe it just comes with the name and I have to accept it.

Or  maybe I really am just endowed with large amounts of coolness.

Xoxo
