Oi tudo mundo!
This past week I hit three months on the mission which feels like forever but also no time at all. As of today, I have 450 days left until I hit the American soil again. I am not counting down the days until I get home...trust me! Haha, I just happen to have a calendar that helps out with things like that.
Another good week in Cordeirópolis. It was a little slow but we will finally have the baptism for Erica this week! It has been a long and hard journey with her but she will be baptized this Friday! I am excited for her and know that this Gospel has already changed her life.
Last week I had quite the adventure. The best grocery store in town is located in the center - about 2 miles from our apartment. So we were doing our grocery shopping for the week plus stuff to bake and as we are checking out, I am thinking, "How the heck are we going to carry all this home???" It was easily 50 pounds of food each. We start walking home and I think to myself, "I really hope we find a member to give us a ride home..." and as soon as I think that it starts POURING rain. Really pouring, like the "rain drops that hurt your skin" rain. My hands are filled with groceries and I have no time to grab my umbrella so we just keep walking the two miles home with tons of groceries and soaking wet dress. Quite the adventure! We have a joke that everytime you walk in the rain, your husband gets more attractive so after that experience, I better marry a super model! :)
Another funny experience this past week was when we were walking down the street and see a dog lying in the middle of the road. He looks dead and won't move when we try to talk to him or get him up. All these people start coming over and everyone is trying to figure out what happened. This whole time a woman is sitting behind a fence at her house watching until finally my companion asks if she knows what happened to the dog or whose dog it is. The woman says, "Oh, he's my dog and he's just lazy." She then calls his name and the dog pops up and walks away. It was SO funny. Everyone just started laughing and walked away. Who would have thought that a fake dying dog could bring so many people together? :)
This past week we did an act of service and cleaned an investigator's home with her. Let's just say, be thankful! I have not gagged like that in a long time. I am so glad that we could help her and I loved how happy her family was when they got home to a clean, happy home. Makes it all worth it!
Other than that, not much to report here right now! Just more lessons and doing the best work in the world - teaching people about our Savior, Jesus Christ! I am so thankful to be a missionary and for the experiences I have everyday. Even walking home in the pouring rain with pounds of groceries ripping your hands isn't that bad when you have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to brighten your day!
We are well and happy here and the work continues. I know the Gospel is true and I love seeing how it changes lives. The Spirit is so strong as we testify of our Savior's love and restored Gospel. Thanks to you all for your love and support! It helps me everyday. I love your emails and letters and love hearing about your days! Keep me updated. :)

I would love some letters! I promise to write back. :) And letters are pretty fast here - only about 11 days, so get on it!
I hope you all are happy and enjoying the cold! I wish it was a little colder here. When it gets to around the 80's, all the Brasilians freeze and pull out the turtle necks and sweaters. Got to love it!
If you all have questions or want to know more about Brasil, feel free to ask! Let me know if I can do anything to help you all!
Love always, Sister Serre!
Me last week with the rain!
