Brasil lost

l

á!

Well, if anyone watched the Brasil-Germany game...I am sorry. What a joke! I wasn't sure if they were showing re-plays or new goals. At first all the Brasilians were super depressed but after about goal 4, they started cheering for Germany and shouting that they wanted at least 20 goals. I didn't even watch the last game against Holland. Brasil let me down! It was pretty funny seeing them get so passionate about the game - they showed people at the stadium sobbing. Brasilians love their futebol!

This week was pretty slow because of the games and because we had a Multi-Zone mission conference. The conference was awesome - hard to believe that it's my third conference! I think it was the most spiritual so far. I learned a lot and am excited to put it all into practice! One thing that Presidente Canuto really focused on was our testimony. We had to stop and think about our testimony and how strong it is. That is one thing that really made me think - here on the mission we are constantly bearing our testimonies that at times it becomes almost routine. It was good to stop and think about what I really KNOW about my testimony and how strong it is. How strong is YOUR testimony?

We also celebrated the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the BRASIL PIRACICABA MISSÃO! Last week my mission hit one year so we all sang "Parabéns" and ate cake. :) We also sang our new mission anthem which is chique de mais! It was fun being with a bunch of my missionary friends singing the new mission anthem and eating cake. :)

At the end of the conference, Presidente Canuto said one of the most powerful prayers that I have ever heard. It left everyone in tears. I know that he is a man called of God to be our mission president and I feel so blessed to work with him and his guidance!

Also, had another first experience here in Brasil! Last weekend the Americana stake celebrated the "Fest Julina" which is basically a hillbilly fest! It made me feel like I was back in NC. :) Everyone wears funny costumes and does a cultural dance. It was really cool! I loved seeing all the families from the stake there as well. We ate hot dogs and other Brasilian sweets. Here in Brasil, hot dogs aren't the regular hot dog with ketchup and mustard - they put tomatoes, mashed potatoes, chips, you name it - all on top! It's pretty hard to eat but so delicious!

That's the big stuff from this week! We had some awesome investigators at chuch yesterday and I am excited to meet with them this week. The work is progressing here in Americana! Next week we have transfers and I have no idea what will happen! It will all be a surprise. :)

Hope you all have an awesome week! Eat a Brasilian hot dog for me. :)

Love you all!
