Olá, olá, olá!
This week I got two packages full of Easter candy! Let me just say, Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are even better a month after Easter in a foreign country. It has been too long without the heavenly mix of Peanut Butter and Chocolate!
In the beginning of my mission, in my first area, it was generally the missionaries' responsibility to give the Gospel Doctrine Sunday School class. I remember sitting in that hot classroom watching my companion teach and thinking, "I will NEVER be able to teach a Doctrine Class in front of people in Portuguese."
Yesterday morning, the other missionaries we live with received a text message saying that the Gospel Doctrine teacher would not be able to make it therefore it was their responsibility to teach. Brasilians have a skill of dodging responsibility, so guess who got to teach Gospel Doctrine yesterday! I had 5 seconds to prepare and it actually went really, really well. It is moments like this that leave me amazed at God's work. Just the fact that after six short months here, I can teach an hour long class with no preparation is a testament that The Lord's work is real! I would never be able to do that without His Divine help. I also had to give the talk during Sacrament meeting. Talk about a busy Sunday.
Oficially less than one year here left in Brasilian paradise! I feel sad to think that time is going so fast yet excited to see what adventures lay ahead!
It has been raining here non-stop for the past four days. I am loving it. Yesterday I saw a woman with ski gear walking in the street. It hits 60 degress here and the world is ending. Brasil!
We have some really great investigators here who are ready for baptism but unfortunately, their families say otherwise. I need you all to pray for my investigators Stefani and Edson! They are golden - already received answers to their prayers and are ready to enter the waters! But everytime we mark a baptism - something happens. I know God can work miracles and I am praying to see some this week!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and can see God's miracles in your life! This Gospel is true. God lives and loves us. I pray for you all!
I am off to make cookies and show the Brasilians how it is DONE!
Love you!
