Que O Brasil diz quando ele está feliz?! TÁ BOM.

Bom dia, minha gente!!!

This past week we finally got to watch the Brasil World Cup game and, man, what fun that was! There are no words to describe watching a Brasil game surrounded by passionate Brasilians. There were cheers, there were screams, there were tears - and in the end, O Brasil ganhou! Brasil won! Not going to lie, I was so nervous that I couldn't even sit down. I thought I was going to have a heart attack - one of the most stressful moments of my mission.

I finally got to wear my Brasil gear outside of the house! Pretty sure it was my extreme Brasilian patriotism that pushed them to the win.

We watched the game at a member´s house - their son just left for his mission and so now they invite us over all the time. :) It's pretty awesome. Afterwards, we celebrated by cutting down some sugar cane and eating it raw. Pretty delicious. (See attached photo.)

Other than the game, it was a pretty calm week here. It's hard to get lessons in when everyone is watching the games. We have a new investigator, Bobby, who is quite the story. He woke up one day not remembering anything since 2004. He has no idea why he is here in Americana and the other day as he was going through box of his stuff, he found a Book of Mormon and decided to give us a call! His story is very different. We are still trying to figure out what to do...

We also have another awesome investigator, Monah. She is an elite! She was already reading The Book of Mormon when we started teaching her and yesterday when she was at church with us, everyone kept thinking she was a new Sister in the ward! She said, "I guess that means I have to be a Sister now!" She literally grew up in the Catholic church (her mom worked in a nunnery so Monah literally lived there...) but she had questions and beliefs that she couldn't find with the Catholic faith. She started to investigate other churches and a friend invited her to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was there that she found the answers she had been longing for. During our second lesson, she said that as she was reading The Book of Mormon, she read in 1 Nephi 3:7 and took that verse as an answer to her prayers. She then asked when she could be baptized. SHE ASKED TO BE BAPTIZED. I started to cry, haha. She said that just as Nephi, she knows that God doesn't give commandments that we cannot fulfill.

For so long I have been praying to see miracles like this in my mission and along came Monah. She will be baptized this Satuday. I am thrilled.

What a blessing it is to be part of this journey! Eu sou muito grata ao meu Pai Celestial pela oportunidade estar aqui - fazendo uma missão. Espero que vocês estejam bem! Have an awesome week!

I know this church is true! I know that Christ lives and loves each of you. He knows you by name - don't forget that.

Love you all! Muito amor! GOOOO BRASIL! GOOOO ESTADOS UNIDOS!
