Seite!

Oi, pessoal!

This week The World Cup officially began and how exciting it has been! I was really looking forward to getting some rest during the game but actually could not sleep at all because of the fire works! They send off fireworks for every. little. thing. And they sound like gun shots! So, I got freaked out every time. Instead of sleeping, I wrote a lot of letters, studied, and got some little projects done that usually I never have time for.

We didn't get to watch the game but knew what was going on from the shouts and screams in the streets. It was pretty funny to watch the Brasilian sisters I live with react to it all - one was crying from not being able to watch and another was dancing with all the goals made. Oh, Brasil.

Other than The Cup excitement, not much new is going on! One cool thing that happened this week was when we invited a man in the street to come to church. Each week we have to talk to at least 200 people in the street inviting them to come to church. Usually it's not a big deal, but this time we invited a random man walking in the street. Like most, he promised that he would be there. The next day, as we were sitting in church, a little boy came up to us and said that a man was there looking for "a blonde and a morena" (me and my companion). We went outside and sure enough - it was him! He said that most churches won't give him the time of day but because we were nice and treated him like an actual person, he wants to learn more about our faith! It was really cool to see that people notice something different about us - that we really are servants and representatives of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Not sure where this will go, but it was a small miracle that lifted my spirit yesterday!

A new sister moved into our house this week - I have known her since the beginning of my mission and she is great! It has been fun having a new (and clean freak - like me!) Sister in the house. :)

Tomorrow we have another Brasil game and get to stay inside. At least tomorow, we get to leave for lunch which will be very nice to get out! Imagine going from being in the street all day, talking to tons of people, to being stuck inside a small house. It is torture!

Also, this week I hit 7 months in the mission! Seite meses! Hard to believe. Time has really picked up the last three months. Speeding by! Pretty soon I will be half-way done!

Last week, my trainer of the mission went home. She called me the night before and we both cried - sure will miss her! This is the first transfer of my mission where missionaries that I knew really well returned home. The next day I just kept thinking that in less than a year, that will be me! SO crazy. I only have 7 transfers left! We have to appreciate every day - we only get one mission in our lives!

I hope you all are doing well and appreciating everyday! I know that our lives are full of difficulties but also full of joy. We were sent here to succeed, not fail. Have faith in God's plan and do everything you can to live life to the fullest. God will do the rest!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week! Live every moment to the fullest.

Love you! GO BRASIL!

Here are some pictures of me and Sister Moraes (one of the Sisters I lived with) with Sugar Cane! I ate raw Sugar Cane! And a picture of me with some of my zone at Burger King!
