The World Cup starts this week!
Olá todo mundo!
Well, the World Cup starts this week which means the town will be painted blue, green, and yellow! And to celebrate, I get to stay inside all day and sleep. We can't even watch the game! But from the firecrackers that go off every five seconds when Brasil does something awesome, I will know what is going on. Brasil loves to party! The smell of barbeque is already in the air.
This past week was nothing too special - just more teaching and laughing at the crazy stuff that happens all the time! Yesterday I found out that I will be staying here with Sister Tavares for another transfer. I am excited to stay here and continue working with our investigators. It will be the first time I stay with the same companion for more than one transfer - it will be nice to not have to change!
This weekend we had Stake Conference which was really cool because Elder Richard G. Scott spoke - in Portuguese! It was really impressive. Kind of weird at first to see him speak in a different language but I loved it! His accent is SO thick though. I leaned over to my companion and said, "Do I speak better than him?" and she replied. "Of course. But he is old." Hahaha, pretty great. Really awesome to see an apostle of God speaking in the celestial language of Portuguese. :)
Stake Conference also meant that I got to see my friends from my other ward here in Americana. So much love! Some of them literally screamed when they saw me! One woman said, "We only had you in our ward for 5 weeks but I just love you so much!" Made me feel happy to see so many friends again! Love it. Hope they visit me in the States! One woman from the Americana 1st ward, Annie, is actually moving to Durham for a couple of months starting in October. Look out for her! She is awesome and it will be great to see my two worlds collide a little. :)
Last week we had P-Day with our zone and I taught some Elders to make cookies! They were really excited and I am excited to try the cookies they will be making for me soon. :)
That is about all that is going on! I hope you all watch the World Cup games for me! I will be rocking it out in my Brasil gear....in our house, in my bed.
Love you all! Thanks for everything! Have a great week!
