Oí minha gente!
This week passed by so incredibly fast - I feel like I was just here writing you my last email!
Last week was JAM PACKED full of cool things that happened. It all started on Tuesday when my whole zone worked in the area of Santa Bárbara. The Elders in Santa Bárbara were needing of some extra help so we all went there and got to work in different parts of the city. It was also our last zone meeting before transfers. I will miss my zone! We really had some awesome Sisters and Elders and will miss each one of them! It was cool to have a day where we all worked in the same city.
Thursday, my companion and I went to the zoo! There were so many animals that I had never seen before or never knew existed - most of them native to Brasil! I felt like a true Brasilian walking around, speaking Portuguese, and seeing Tapirs (look it up - they are HUGE!) and Toucans walking around. While we were there, we took tons of pictures all over the park and garden! Just as we were leaving, I realized that I had lost my pin drive - with ALL my mission photos. We had ten minutes to run through the entire park and gardens. I felt pretty hopeless. My sweet companion suggested that we said a prayer and as soon as we said "amén" I was overwhelmed with peace and tranquility - knowing that The Lord would help me out.
(Something that I am really learning on my mission is that The Lord always has the best in store for us - we just have to be patient and have faith.)
So, I began running through the zoo - almost crying - asking everyone if they had seen my pindrive. Most people said, "A lot of people pass through here - someone probably picked it up and took it home." I started to get a little nervous as we still hadn't found my pindrive and the park was closing. All the picures I had lost starting running through my head as we headed to the last possible place. In the Botanical Garden, there are these HUGE bamboo trees and we took pictures with them. It was the last place that my pindrive could be - only problem is - the ground was COVERED in dried leaves and other stuff that would make it nearly impossible to find a small pindrive. But, thankfully, nothing is impossible with God. I found my pindrive buried beneath tons of dried bamboo - something that should have been impossible. The light of the sun was shining on it perfectly just for me to see it.
Even though it is just a small pindrive, The Lord knew that it was really important to me. It truly was a testament to me that The Lord is aware of us and that He loves us. He wants us to be happy! Truly a miracle.
Yesterday we found out about transfers - I will be heading to São Carlos to be the newest Sister Training Leader of the Brasil Piracicaba Missão! I am so excited to have a new area and for this new resposibility! Basically, I will be a Zone Leader for the sisters in three zones. I will do splits with them and try to help them out. A little overwhelming but I am excited for something new! I know nothing about São Carlos, but will for sure miss Americana! These past 6 months here have been awesome. I already miss the Carioba ward! There are so many people here that have become part of my family. A lot of members started crying when they found out I was transferred. Sure will miss this ward and city!
My companion will be staying here in Carioba - I will miss her! Hard to believe we have passed over 4 months together. She is like a sister to me now and it will be hard to leave her, but she says she will visit me at Disney World...so let's see. :)
Lots of changes coming ahead! I am trying to get all my stuff to fit in my suitcases. Crazy how much stuff you accumulate after 4 months in the same area! James Moss enters the Brasil Piracicaba Missão tomorrow! Mais um Durhamite aqui. :)
I love you all and pray for you! I hope this email frinds you happy and healthy! I pray that you can feel God's love and know that He is always looking out for you. You truly are a child of God.
Love you! Te amo! Até mais!
