á pessoal!
Last week I hit the official nine months in the mission which means I am on the downward slope! Hard to believe. Reality sunk in a little bit when I started thinking that in less than nine months I will have to return to the real world...
Here in Brasil, they don't say "Does it snow where you live?" They say, "Does snow fall where you live?" In Americana, there are a lot of sugar cane fields and to get rid of the sugar cane they burn it all. Which sends tons of little black ashes into the air....for miles and miles. So, lately, as I wipe away ashes from my face, I have been saying "Where I live snow falls. Here, pollution falls." The Brasilians get a kick out of it! That funny Americana...
Last week we had our P-Day com zona! All the missionaries from my zone hung out and had a huge water balloon fight. It was really fun - at first it started out as water balloon volleyball but slowly turned into a water balloon fight. The Elders were intense...I just laid low and laughed until the started to attack me with water buckets. Everyone left the activity soaking wet. Pretty awesome.
Last week we had a lesson with a woman who, when we asked her what she would ask God for, responded that she would like to know where her husband is and how he is doing. We said a prayer asking God to help this woman and left. 40 minutes later, her neighbor got a phone call from a number she didn't recognize - it was the husband! He called a wrong number and ended up talking to his wife. Truly a miracle! What are the chances that he would call a wrong number and end up talking to his wife's neighbor? God hears and answers prayers even in ways we may not think of or recognize.
Next week we will have transfers, so this could be my last week here in Americana! To celebrate, my companion and I are headed to the zoo. Should be great. I am excited to see what a Brasilian zoo is like.
I hope that everyone is doing well and getting ready to start back up with school! I miss and love you all but know that I am where I am needed to be! This work is moving forward and even if at times we are only planting seeds of the Gospel, we are still helping people come unto Christ.
I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I am so thankful that I know and live this Gospel. It blesses my life everyday. I cannot imagine my life without the Gospel truths.
Espero que todo mundo esteja bem! Português é legal.
Amo vocês!
