Hi everyone!
So this week I started my new transfer here in Carioba! It is still in the city of Americana - just in a different part. All new people and a new ward! We live here in a house with another companionship of Sisters and so far, so good! This area seems a lot more receptive than my other areas and this past week we already had three investigators at church! The area is REALLY big, and we have already split it, but it still will take around 2 hours to walk to our part of the area. We will be using the bus a lot. :)
Last Tuesday I headed to Piracicaba and picked up my new little traineƩ! The new missionaries were sitting in the room, having a meeting with President Canuto, and started to sing "Called to Serve." During the second verse, all the trainers marched in singing and surprised the newbies! It was such a wonderful experience to see all the new, fresh, little missionaries ready to get to work! My little traineƩ is Sister Tavares from Fortaleza, Brasil! She is pretty shy but learning fast to talk to everyone! I am training her well to love talking to people in the street. :) Our first day together, we talked to over 60 people and taught great lessons! We are working hard and meeting some awesome people here in Americana.
I am exhausted! Opening an area and training are difficult to do at the same time but I am liking the challenge! Everyday I am so tired and fall asleep so fast but know we are doing The Lord's work! Exhaustion means we are doing our job!
A highlight of this week will be Mothers' Day in Brasil! Meaning I get to talk to my family this Sunday! I am SO excited! Because I was in the CTM during Christmas, I didn't get to talk to them but this Sunday I get to skype! I have been looking forward to this forever! It will be almost 6 months since I last talked to them. :)
Another fun thing going on is that Sister Kimbrell, from my home stake, is now in my zone! I get to see her every week! So fun to see two little North Carolina girls working together in Brasil. So random! Also found out that another kid from my stake is headed to this mission! I think the Brasil Piracicaba mission has some kind of connection with the Durham NC stake!
I wish you all the best and pray that you all are doing well!
Love you all!
Sister Serre
